How to use the Rent Receipt Template
The template includes a settings tab where you can quickly and conveniently set up the essential parts of your receipts. You can enter your company name, address, select the currency symbol, and even choose the color suitable for your brand from the drop-down menu.
The spreadsheet includes two different receipt templates on separate worksheets. Each of these templates allows entering of the tenant's name, address, the amount paid, the period for which the rent is received, and the means of payment, such as cash, check, or money order.
If you manage many rental properties with many tenants, you may want to consider creating a pre-filled receipt template for every property you manage. This will help you to save time and avoid having to type the tenant's name and property address every time you print the receipt.
Rent Receipt Worksheet
This worksheet lets you print three receipts on a single page. You would only have to fill out the first receipt. The information entered in the first receipt will be copied to the other two copies. If you prefer to print blank receipts, you can delete the information contained in the first copy of the receipt then print and fill out by hand.
Rent Receipt with Remittance Worksheet
This worksheet contains four receipts with a detachable remittance slip for your records. If you need to print a blank copy, you can delete the content in cells that you do not want to appear on the printout, then print and fill out by hand.
Tracking Receipts and Payments
One of the benefits of using a spreadsheet to create and print your rent receipts is the ability to track the payments you receive. You can print and save a PDF copy of the receipt on your computer. You can create a directory titled "Receipts" with subdirectories for each of your properties or tenants then save a file with the receipt number or the date as a filename.
You can also use the dedicated Rent Payment Schedule for each of your tenants to keep track of payments.
